The Event

Three fishing days for bluefin tuna and associated species, points-based scoring, video catch verification and the weigh-in at the marina. Marina Frapa, Rogoznica, 26–30 August 2026

01 — Format

How it is fished

Tuna Fever is a team tournament. Each team competes on its own (or chartered) boat, fishing the open Adriatic in the Šibenik–Split waters. The goal is the highest points total over three fishing days — bluefin tuna, swordfish, albacore, mahi-mahi and little tunny score points, by catch-and-release or by weigh-in.

Fishing is done from a drifting boat and from a boat under way — trolling, strictly rod and reel. Every hook-up is announced to the judge boat on VHF channel 72, the fight is recorded on camera, and retained catch is brought to the marina and weighed on the official scale. Standings are calculated by the points table in the official rules.

ICCAT

The tournament is run in accordance with ICCAT bluefin tuna regulations and the available national quotas. Teams without a valid permit cannot enter the weigh-in.

AWeigh-in — Marina Frapa

Big Game

The main competition. Teams leave in a common line start and return before the scales close. Every hook-up is reported to the judge boat, the fight is recorded on camera and the catch is verified at the end of the day. Only catch brought to the scale in the prescribed condition counts — or a properly recorded release.

Alongside the overall standings there are daily medals and sponsor prizes, and the winning team earns a place at the OWC Costa Rica invitational tournament.

KVOTA

The tuna quota is split across the three fishing days with carry-over. One retained tuna per boat per day until the quota is filled; mandatory catch-and-release afterwards.

VIDEO

Every team must carry a camera. The start and end of each fight are recorded without interruption and sent to the chief judge via WhatsApp.

04 — Fishing zone

Where the
fishing is

The zone is defined by 5 coordinates. Leaving the boundary without approval carries a penalty, and catch from that period does not count.

Marina Frapa from the air — ten piers in Soline bay, the Gradina peninsula and Rogoznica
04Soline bay — ten piers, the hotel island and Rogoznica in the background

Marina Frapa sits in Soline bay, deeply indented and sheltered from every wind. It has 462 sea berths on ten piers plus 150 places ashore, and its depths take boats over 40 metres. What matters to us is simple: the scale, the stage and the team berths are on the same pier, and the open sea is 15 minutes away.

The marina has repeatedly been voted the best large Croatian marina and flies the Blue Flag. Behind it is the Gradina peninsula with Dragon's Eye — a salt lake in a sinkhole, unique in the Adriatic and worth the walk if you have a spare hour.
